Force of Nature: Complex Symmetry of the Human Connectome

This entire image was created from one photo of tree branches, as the brain evolved from one neuron, to demonstrate how simplicity becomes complexity within the neuroanatomy of the human brain. Whereas some of the symmetry of the brain is obvious, such as the two hemispheres, much of it is obscured by a complexity that eludes the human eye. It is as if the human connectome"™s symmetrical properties exist in a dimensional space somewhere beyond our perceptual consciousness. Thus, the image presents the seen and the voids of the unseen that symbolize our understanding of mind.
