An abstract simulation of axon guidance, intended to resemble the outgrowth of neural explants into collagen in the 'outgrowth assay'. The guidance of 10,000 axons from 7 explants is simulated, based on the Growth Rate Modulation equations from Mortimer et al 2010: 'Axon Guidance by Growth Rate Modulation'.
When the axons reached their target explant, the 'bundling' effect of refined connectivity was simulated between connected cell clusters.
