The Public Cerebellum

This is an abstract illustration of the cerebellum. It is inspired by the typography and history of Paula Scher’s Public Theater logotype. In 1994, the “Public Theater” of New York City had low public awareness and attendance. Paula Scher was commissioned to create a new logotype for the theater. The result was a novel, unconventional typography that marked a major upturn in the theater’s popularity. Once an unimportant, often ignored aspect of the city, the Public Theater is now one of New York City’s leading institutions for new theatrical productions.
