While neuroimaging studies traditionally collapse data from many subjects, brain structure and function vary between individuals, and characterizing this variability is crucial for developing imaging-based tools with practical utility at the single-subject level. This image represents the potential of discovering each brain's unique code, or "fingerprint," with an eye toward brain-based biomarkers of present and future behavior.
