Brainship

This image is inspired by the neuro-anatomical drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal. The small paper ship symbolizes consciousness, the ego driven around by an unfathomable sea in the midst of neuronal thunder storms. We individuals cannot perceive the work of our neurons, but only a small part of the effects resulting from their activity. Somewhere there arises our consciousness, dependent on the unconscious functioning of the brain.
